Rick + Amelia

There is a saying that "you don't go to college to meet your husband, you go to college to meet your bridesmaids" and I totally agree. I had the privilege of not only being Amelia's bridesmaid, but to also be her makeup artist as she "didn't trust anyone else" with her makeup. Amelia and I have been friends since 1999, she was blasting the Dixie Chicks in her room and I lived across the hall and went to her begging for Excedrin for a migraine, and thus a friendship formed. Since then, we have been roommates and the best of friends. It was an honor to do the makeup for one of the most important days in her life.

Each bridesmaid was going for a natural look with the volume pumped up a tiny bit. It seems that at each wedding where I provide makeup services, there are 3 products that I constantly reach for. While those items change from wedding to wedding, they make a HUGE impact on the final look.

The most frequently used item for Amelia's wedding was MAC cosmetics eyebrows in "fling" as many of the girls had the misfortune of getting their eyebrows waxed and losing the natural shape of their brow.

The second most frequently used item was MAC cosmetics Chromagraphic pencil in NC15/NW20 this multipurpose pencil was used to create a natural, not too matte, not to sparkly highlight on the browbone and was also used in the waterline to create a larger, more awake eye look.

The 3rd most popular item for the wedding was NARS cosmetics multiple in Orgasm. This popular, multipurpose cream stick was the perfect glowy, flush of color on the cheeks for a Spring wedding and works on a variety of skin tones.

Of course, there are some items that are necessities for great bridal makeup- waterproof mascara, waterproof eyeliner, and invisible powder to set the makeup.
